How long is the Gruffalo clubhouse? And why you’ll wish it was longer!
If you’ve ever read The Gruffalo and thought, “I’d like to step right into this storybook world,” well, grab your little monsters and get your mouse-sized backpacks ready, because the Gruffalo Clubhouse is a magical adventure you won’t want to miss.
But before we dive into all the delightful, mud-stomping, squirrel-chasing, woodland-wonder magic, let’s answer the question everyone’s asking:

How long is the Gruffalo Clubhouse experience?

Well, officially, the session time is around 45 minutes. Yep 45 whole minutes of Gruffalo-themed fun, games, and imaginative play for kids aged between 0 – 10 years, and, let’s be honest, for the grown-ups who are still young at heart.
BUT! And a big but! Don’t be fooled by the numbers, because those 45 minutes are packed with so much storytelling magic, interactive woodland adventure, and sensory overload in the best possible way. You’ll be talking about it for the rest of the week.

Soft play at Gruffalo Clubhouse

So, What Is the Gruffalo Clubhouse?

Think, soft play meets enchanted forest, add a sprinkle of Julia Donaldson playfulness, some crawling tunnels, sensory walls, story nooks, and larger-than-life Gruffalo sculptures your kids can actually climb on. Then chuck in a few talking trees, a squishy log pile house, and the world’s friendliest Fox and Owl (not real ones, sorry, no woodland creatures will be handing out snacks).
It’s not just a play area, it’s a whole world inspired by The Gruffalo and Friends. The Clubhouse is set indoors, so it’s perfect for rainy days, toddler energy bursts, or when your kid asks “What can we do today?” for the 17th time before 9 a.m.

Where Is It And When Can I Go?

You’ll find the Gruffalo Clubhouse at the Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse in Blackpool, right on the seafront (so hello beach walks after playtime).

Opening Times:

Pro tip: sessions are timed, and entry is usually booked in advance, so it’s a good idea to grab your tickets online before you go. Walk-ins might be possible if they’re not fully booked, but why risk Gruffalo-related disappointment.

Do I Need to Bring Snacks?

Ah, the age-old parenting question. “Will there be snacks??”
Great news,  you can absolutely grab food right at the venue. The Clubhouse is part of a larger entertainment experience, which includes the beloved Gruffalo & Friends Adventure attraction and, you guessed it, a café! So whether your little explorer wants a juice box and a biscuit or you need a caffeine hit strong enough to rival the Gruffalo’s roar, you’ll be covered.
They’ve got family-friendly eats, high chairs, and even allergy-friendly options, so you don’t need to bring your own snacks unless you really want to. Though no judgment if you’ve got emergency raisins stashed in your pocket, you’re among friends here.

Is It Worth It?

In a word – YES!
If your kids love The Gruffalo, The Snail and the Whale, Room on the Broom, or pretty much any of Julia Donaldson’s storybook pals, this is a no-brainer. It’s like letting them jump inside their bedtime story, but with padded floors and lots of giggles.
And even if your little one doesn’t know every line of the book by heart yet, they’ll still have a blast climbing, crawling, and exploring their way through this clever, creative, and well-designed playland.

The Verdict: Will You Wish It Were Longer?

Honestly – Yes!
You’ll walk out saying, “That flew by!” But also grateful that it didn’t go on for too long because, let’s be real, 45 minutes is just right for younger kiddos with limited attention spans and boundless energy. Plus, with the seafront just steps away and plenty more family-friendly Blackpool attractions nearby like the Blackpool Tower, the Gruffalo Clubhouse can be part of a bigger day of fun.

Final Tip

Don’t forget to bring socks! Grown-ups and kids both need them for the soft play area. Gruffalos may go barefoot, but we humans must comply with hygiene rules.
So what are you waiting for? Go find that deep, dark wood, er, Clubhouse, and let your little adventurers loose. Just watch out for Gruffalos, fox,  owl, snake, and actually, maybe just keep your camera ready, you’re going to want pictures.
