One of the first things worth knowing is that LEGOLAND isn’t actually in downtown Toronto. You’ll find it inside Vaughan Mills in Vaughan, around 32 km north of downtown Toronto. That doesn’t make it difficult to reach, but it does mean you’ll want to think about transport before the morning of your visit, especially if you’re travelling with children.

For us, the children’s ages would probably be the deciding factor. We’d be much more willing to make a public transport connection with an eight-year-old than with a two-year-old who’s likely to fall asleep the second we leave LEGOLAND.

This is something that’s very easy to overlook. You spend all your time working out how to get to LEGOLAND and forget that several hours later you’ll have to get everyone back again.
Before entering the attraction, we’d check the return journey, particularly if we’re relying on public transport. YRT timetables and some services can change according to the day and operating schedules, so check the current timetable rather than relying solely on what you used to get there.
We’d also check how much a rideshare back to our accommodation would cost. You don’t have to use it. But when everyone comes out tired, hungry and completely LEGO’d-out, you’ll already know your Plan B.
Could You Combine LEGOLAND With Another Attraction?
Potentially yes, but don’t cram too much into the day just because you’ve travelled out to Vaughan. Vaughan Mills itself gives you shopping and places to eat, while Canada’s Wonderland is also in Vaughan.
If you’re driving, combining activities becomes easier because you’re not as tied to public transport connections. With younger children, however, we’d probably keep the plan fairly relaxed.
LEGOLAND + food + a wander around Vaughan Mills may be more than enough.
